So, Apple has released a whole new set of Macbooks. All the unibody (aluminum) Macbooks are now ALL Macbook Pros, even the 13". The lowest end model will even have the higher end LED screens, as well as the backlit keyboards, and, most of all, the internal battery giving it about ~7 hours of battery life. Oh, and they added back that FireWire ports (surprise).
This brings me to wonder a few things, now, i'm not bitter that I bought my normal unibody (discontinued) Macbook 6 months ago, but I do wonder, is Apple going to keep to its user base and continue to manufacturer the internal removal batteries for people who bought their unibody Macbooks in the past 12 months? If Apple stops supplying them and mine dies out, which likely it will someday, I swear on my life I will never buy another Apple product ever. Because that would just be dirty, and I think maybe it might hold enough water to be true, because i'm somewhat worried it's something Apple Corporate would do.
What is your take? Did you just buy a Macbook like a month ago to see the new ones come out? Or are you afraid that they will be missing specific pieces down the line? Let me hear your thoughts, write a comment!
Ps. Why at WWDC '09 did everyone cheer when they reintroduced Firewire? That would be like them removing the screen and next year giving you a screen back and everyone is like, "OMG APPLE ADDED A SCREEN, THAT'S AMAZING!". Sometimes I wonder. Also, add an SD slot is also nothing to cheer about. Hasn't that been on every computer for the past 4 years? Welcome to 2009, indeed.

Overall, the new lineup looks great. They just forgot one thing: Fucking matte screens.
I hate the gloss, and I hate that only the 17" models have the "anti-glare" option. It's ridiculous.

Do you have a unibody or one of the previous matte Macbook pros? I pretty much want to cut myself designing on the gloss Macbook, as my matte desktop monitors do the trick.
I guess by now it's a bit over 2 years old, but it still works quite well and isn't slow or anything.
I swear, the screen is literally the only thing stopping me from upgrading.

Only thing that really bothers me at all is the continued lack of blu ray support. But other than that.. super. All the other minor improvements I was hoping for occurred. And of course apple can't be held responsible for intel being slow with their nehalem laptop processors... ah well

The cheapest 15" pro... the thing is $1700 and has no dedicated graphics card. That's just wrong

A new line, but near is going to be a new line with quads and then with i7, so the people buy them just to see them get old in a few months.
