With such a large user base of Adobe PhotoShop fanatics in the world (and right here in deviantART), why not share a little bit of information for those of you who havn't heard the latest on your favourite application.
Adobe PhotoShop CS3, which is set for an apparent release for Q2 of 2007, will have a few new features you may be interested in. This time around it'll be shipping in two seperate versions: Standard, and Premium. The difference? Extra applications and abilities, of course - not to mention the price.
Some of the most impressive news about CS3 will be major changes to the non-destructive elements of PhotoShop, allowing for easier image manipulations and control, as well as Camera RAW 4, and a rumoured interface-overhaul as well.
On top of this, tools such as rulers and other techniques for measuring will be introduced, and changes to the perspective engine will also be introduced. One of the things i've read that bothers me slightly is that there is a chance features that are available in CS2 already may be moved exclusively to the CS3 Premium package, and will not be available in CS3 Standard, which begs the question is it really worth it to upgrade to CS3 after all?
I guess we will all find out in 2007 if the new PhotoShop is another evolution in graphic design software, or just another brick in the wall of the ever-growing changes to the Adobe software suite.

I still can't find a reason to buy an iPad?
Apple is on the third revision of it's hugely popular touch-screen device, and yet, to this day I still can't find a justifiable reason to purchase one.
As a bit of background, I love electronics, and this is what I currently spend my time with on a daily basis (in varying percentage):
-iMac
-MacBook Air
-Kindle (I can't read ebooks on a backlit screen)
-iPhone
-Apple TV
-PlayStation 3
Those are the core pieces of electronics I use, typically in conjunction with one another, but, even today, I can't find a fit for the iPad.
At first I thought it would be great to just lounge around and use it to read some websites on the couch, but m

Don't forget to check out this cool app from The Skins Factory that just was released. There is a special launch price right now.
This is the most complete file viewer I've used, and it's definitely worth a look if you're an iPad owner.

iMac Update
So, I have an update.
After replacing my iMac five times (yes, I said five), at four different Best Buy stores, I finally got a new iMac that doesn't have any issues! (knock on wood).
I also upgraded to 8GB of RAM (I got the kit for $42.00 + shipping, can't argue that price).
In all, it's a base model 21.5" (I had the 21.5" 3.2GHz ATI Radeon 5670 but it was the one having issues that I returned).
I now have:
21.5" iMac
3.06GHz Intel i3
ATI Radeon 4670 256MB GDDR3
8GB DDR3 RAM
500GB HDD
I also figured 500GB was quite small, but as I have never actually used more than 250GB in my entire computing career to date (my last computer had a
Your iMac experience?
I'm on to my 4th iMac in a week...
Bought 4 of them from 3 different stores, each have had faults:
1: Broken CPU fan (grinding sound on the bearings, like a 'whirring' sound)
2: Yellow screen.
3: Dog-whistle type sound. Result of the LED capacitors vibrating at around 15-16Hz.
4: Same as #3.
Not sure what to do. I even changed models to 'upgrade' at one point in hopes of getting around this. So far I've spent about 20 hours just 'setting up' and formatting computers to take back, and needless to say the time and gas hasn't made me very happy.
Not sure what to do at this point. At 100% brightness, it's great, too bad it basically burns
