Installed, updated, everything in less than half an hour. Installing all the programs took about the same amount of time, and setting up Media Center was a breeze. Heck, when Aero chose to disable itself, a simple use of the Troubleshooter fixed it.
Definitely everything Windows should have been before.

It's really great overall. But I get pretty bored of it, I kind of miss Windows XP, it was simple and small, even though I haven't used it in about a year.
I finally installed it and it's working great, I have to admit. I hope it stays like that It seems it had a lot of drivers so I didn't have to install almost anything. There are a few things I really liked about the UI (like swapping taskbar items, customization of tray icons display, etc.), other that not so much (like the new Programs menu in Start) and some that I wished that would be there by now but didn't (like a "Replace All If Newer" function when copying/moving files).
All in all the performance has been great, we'll see how it develops over the next months.
I've been running it for a few months now. I haven't had any compatibility issues at all even with new games like Borderlands. I guess most of the software that works for Vista still works for W7. It's def worth upgrading to if you are looking to reformat anytime soon. Performance wise PS still loads the same as in XP, so it's not a required update.. but still - much sexier interface
I'm running the RC version (build 7.100 whereas the ones hitting retails are 7.600, aka rtm) and aside from a few very minor bugs it runs flawlessly. Great interface, exceptional resource handling, great drivers support, superb software compatibility... Everything has it's downside, but most of the negative things I have to say about my experiences with 7.100 have (according to reports on 7.600) been fixed for the final release, so I say kudos to MS for releasing an excellent operating system
I mean, linux is cool, It's still the prefered development platform, but at the end of the day, windows 7 is my art/general use platform
