Yup, perhaps you are right!
But, I think a layman may not be so much aware of dA...the buyer may himself be a designer but he may still buy a template if he needs it in case he is a way to busy, sometimes may be due to lack of ideas or lack of time...could be any reason! But, also finding a right designer & best template may still be difficult, browsing through tons of deviations ain't easy & especially more so if you are at lack of time.
Well, its just my thought...communication helps to wipe of the mind cobwebs if I may have any!

Yeah it's true. I was just wondering at the possibility at it :) If there ever was such a thing it would have to be its own unique system of doing things -- not just randomly browsing. It would be a system that had to be built.

Yes, would agree with you completely...a unique in-built system with certain rules & regulations can definitely make it buyer friendly!

1. I'd rather make my own.
2. Ripping source code & images is way too easy.
3. I don't have much spending money...

you're asking designers if they'd buy a design...
well i think it's a good idea, i also thought of this before... but deviantart is a community for artists and i don't think that businessmen look for designs here.

Actually it appears designers are the only ones replying to this :P I'm asking everyone, really. People who can't design might find this useful.

I would be interested in buying a website template. For the right price and in PSD format would be good... :)

I think it would work, but only if each template was tested and proved that it works 100%. That way, no one is ripped off.

Yeah that's why it is only sold in PSD. If they want a full-design they have to contact the designer of the PSD. Else it's just a flat template file.

To echo several others, I probably wouldn't buy a template for myself. But I voted yes because I know that I would use it if I needed to (e.g., I couldn't design)

A lot of your watchers are designers, so I can see this being a little biased. ;)

No I wouldn't. I like to use my own templates, so I guess there's no need for buying a template created by someone else. But, I would buy a layout created especially for deviantart. Hell yeah :w00t:.

Well I mean, out of all the users on deviantART I bet only 5-10% can actually design anything, so, it really goes out to all of them -- not just us :P

I won't buy because I design my own but I think it's a good thing for people who can't design her own layouts.

i wouldnt but, for the people who doesnt make their own, as someone already said here, its a good idea, but i really think that, people who needs site for their company dont came to DA to buy it, so a nice online portfolio is better.

It completely depends on the cost/performance ratio.
Well, but I usually would make my own, let's see what the future brings.

I think a .psd service like the print service would be great.

+1 !!!

it should be a nice idea.

I'm a software developer and sometimes I need juste a basic template of few icons.

buying a psd of buttons for example is a nice idea to improve the software later and add button without need the graphist anymore.

This has been discussed before (notably by ^depthskins) however, I am still interested.

I think a .PSD service for example could be done well on deviantART (with the likely solution being a % given to deviantART).

I vote "Yes".
